Permanent Residency

Yesterday, August 1, I received a letter that says I can go pick up my permanent residency document. What I was told, both when I researched this on the Internet and by the person at the Aliens’ office is that the document would be coming in the mail. I can, and did, authorize someone to go get it for me, sending the appropriate documents with her, one of wife Eva’s assistants. There was a form included with the letter for such an authorization. So, when that document is in my hands, sometime after 4:00 PM, or 1600 military if you prefer, I’ll be a permanent resident here in Germany!
