Permanent Residency, Almost a Certainty

Loyal followers of my blog may know, if their memory is good, that I’ve been waiting for permanent residency here in Germany. On Tuesday, May 17, just two days ago, I went to the Aliens’ office. I haven’t quite been living here seven years, but still I had hopes that this time they wouldn’t just renew my visa. After jumping through lots of hoops, I was told that it would be six to eight weeks till my permanent residency would come in the mail. I’m rather pleased and excited I can tell ya!

This was the first time that I had to pay money, and good money at that, for the Aliens’ office visit. I’m told I just applied for permanent residency, but I’m still confident that nothing will go wrong and I’ll be sent the paper or papers in the allotted time.

  1. Friendly aliens seeking permanent residency in Germany? We don’t have to worry about that, at least for now. Let’s find out what they, or you, will do in the future. We’ll keep an eye on you though.
