Yesterday, I finally downloaded both Behind the Wheel German 1 and 2. The audio books are now available on BARD, but not the supplementary Braille material. I’m, of course, keeping a vigilant eye out for these to become available.
Still in Process
I’ve really tried to be patient. Before Christmas I was told by my librarian that the German courses would be up in a few weeks. Yesterday I finally bit the bullet and wrote her again. This morning I got an answer from her saying they’re still in process. Now I’m wondering what can take so… Continue reading Still in Process
Twitter Shmitter, and Mastodon
I’ve been using Twitter for many years. I actually thought I could ride out the recent changes its owner has decided to bring about. Last night, with the cutoff date looming, I deleted two third-party apps I was using and opened the Windows Twitter app. I was getting some help with an issue, then suddenly… Continue reading Twitter Shmitter, and Mastodon
Mist World, a Short Story
After having heard about Mist World from Elten and other places, I got sent a link to the portable version by a friend. I joined up and found I was having a bit of fun, at least till I got to level six, where I’m now stymied and can’t get past the rats in the… Continue reading Mist World, a Short Story
A New Fruitpot
The other night when I noticed there was an update to Fruitpot, there was a message saying if I liked Fruitpot to be sure and check out Fruitpot 2. So I did and I’m enjoying this one as well, though, at the moment, I’m rather at a standstill. I’m trying to get enough money, not… Continue reading A New Fruitpot

Natural Voices from Microsoft
This is for those who haven’t made the upgrade to Windows 11, and also for those who don’t have the latest update to Windows 11, that is, Version 22H2 (OS Build 22621.963) or later. Microsoft has introduced three natural-sounding voices for English U.S. users. I can’t speak for other regions. The voices you’ll hear in… Continue reading Natural Voices from Microsoft
Gab
I am politically conservative. I’ve seen the way liberal policies have demoralized nation after nation. I had hoped to keep my political views close to my vest, but something happened this morning that makes me very angry! Some time back I joined a site call Gab. That stands for Go And Build. It was founded… Continue reading Gab
Finally, Progress on the German Courses
My librarian has informed me today that the German courses, level 1 and level 2 of Behind the Wheel, will be available on the BARD site for download within 2 or 3 weeks. I’m excited, though wondering how far I’ll actually get. I don’t seem to be gifted in the organic learning that Pimsleur talked… Continue reading Finally, Progress on the German Courses
Reaper Madness
Well, I finally took the plunge and downloaded Reaper. Listening to posts in the music thread and thinking, hmm, wonder if I can do anything like what I’m hearing or perhaps something much different. For now, the answer is no. I’m slogging through the over 400 pages of the Up and Running manual and so… Continue reading Reaper Madness
