Although the Extended BASIC cartridge, when it calls the built-in phrases, doesn’t say butt with two t’s, I wrote my blog entry title to suggest that it says like the rear end of someone.

Previously, I mentioned that to make the speech sound smoother, one must use a combination of strings and constants, so I put every other word into a variable and the remaining words in quotes. The resulting call say command looked like this:
call say("put",a$,"joystick",b$,"your",c$)
Note: to make words like "the", which have 2 pronunciations, say the one you want, if you want the alternate pronunciation, put a 1 at the end, in other words "the1" to make it say the alternate of thee. Refer back to my recording to hear what I’m talking about.
Anyway, now you know that to use Extended BASIC speech, you must make considerations so to make the speech so as smoothly as it did in my recording in this blog entry.
Don’t know what you’re referring to but yes, the speech is fluent.
It’s quite smooth with the combination of string constants and variables. I actually had a bit of a laugh reprogramming that piece.
