Natural Voices from Microsoft

This is for those who haven’t made the upgrade to Windows 11, and also for those who don’t have the latest update to Windows 11, that is, Version 22H2 (OS Build 22621.963) or later.

Microsoft has introduced three natural-sounding voices for English U.S. users. I can’t speak for other regions. The voices you’ll hear in this sample are Aria, Guy and Jenny respectively. Sadly, they’re only available for use with Narrator at the time of this writing. I truly hope they can be implemented for other screen readers. These are, by far, the best voices I’ve heard from Microsoft. I also hope that voices of this quality can be gotten for other regions as soon as possible, if not already available.

  1. I’m very religious about checking the Microsoft Store for updates. This morning when I checked I see that all three of the natural voices from them had updates.

  2. I’ve gotten used to its quirks, and all versions have had their quirks. The main reason I believe in keeping up to date with any operating system is that security fixes are constantly being updated, plus other software developers are able to take advantage of such and such an improvement, leaving the older systems dead in the water. Support for older systems goes away too, leaving users of those more and more vulnerable to security breaches and the attacks thereof.

  3. i liked a lot of features that i’ve, heard? , but idk, i’m not sure about updating to windows 11, i’ve heard a lot of pros and cons, but idk, what do you think about it?

  4. I had to get them. They weren’t automatically there. If they’re available they will show up in that part of settings. It will say something like get natural voices. If you keep tabbing you’ll see get legacy voices too.
