Well, folks, something I thought I’d never be able to say is that I’m on Discord now. I got a bit of a wild hair yesterday evening/night. A friend and I were discussing CAPTCHA solving add-ons for various browsers. So I grabbed a couple of them but they didn’t help me with hCAPTCHA, mainly, I think, because the Discord program doesn’t open in any browser. At any rate, I was finally able to solve a text-based challenge. It took me many tries as the questions were quite tricky. One has to go down below the image-based one and there’s a button that says something like learn more about hCAPTCHA’s accessibility options and choose the second option to get started with the text-based challenge. There are three pages of questions, one on each page, and when you finish the third question you hit verify answers.
That, though, was only the first big hurtle. Because I live in a country other than the United States the combo box kept jumping back to the States when I’d set it on Germany. When I finally did get it to stay on Germany, it took some doing to get the country code to show up. Then I had to figure out how to get my phone number in the right way. Finally the six-digit verification code came to my phone and I was able to get completely verified.
That second verification looks like another CAPTCHA but when you get started on it it’ll say verify by phone.
Wow, what a process! It was definitely not the easiest thing I ever did.
Now for the learning curve, oh boy!
@Landon205 I Personally don’t use abbreviations when writing messages. Somewhat at the old school sort of person.
I am sure he said sure, otherwize I would have said no lol.
@Landon Of course he remembers you because of your username and you used to talk to him before.
@Landon
Did you ask permission first? He’s a newbie to Discord so just saying.
I know was checking rofl rofl rofl.
Great, I look forward to it.
Of course I remember you!
Hay Charles. Remember me? Yep, it’s me, Landon again. I also want to tell you that I have a discord server. I’ll pm you the link.
It’s turned off on mine too but it starts up.
Mine never starts up because I have the switch turned off called Launch during startup.
It’s switched off already in profile and it still starts sometimes when my computer starts.
I’ll try profile as it doesn’t show up in start-up.
Disabling Auto Start on Discord Launch
• For Windows, open the Discord app and go to Settings > Windows Settings and toggle the switch off next to Open Discord.
• Alternatively for Windows, open Task Manager and go to Startup/Startup apps > Discord > Disable.
• In some cases, Discord will be listed as Update by GitHub. If you don’t see "Discord", check for this name instead.
You have to go to your profile settings and there’s an option unchecked where it says Launch during startup.
A behavior that puzzles me a bit is that sometimes Discord starts when my computer does and sometimes not. It doesn’t show up in the list of start up apps so I’m not sure how to stop it from occasionally doing this.
I knew what you meant.
Thats*
I’m not sure yet if I’ll get this app for my phone. I suppose I will at some point.
