Oktoberfest

The only things I enjoyed the only time we went to Oktoberfest were the yummy food and the Lebkuchen hearts we bought for one another.

Yesterday was the beginning of this beer festival. I thought, just for the heck of it, I’d record the cannon going off as it can be clearly heard from where we live. This recording was made on my Victor Reader Stream 3, so it’s in mono and probably not all that good in quality. I had an interesting problem when I grabbed it from the SD card. When I opened it in Studio Recorder to edit it, Studio Recorder said it wasn’t an accepted file format. It’s in wave, so I figured it could be handled. Well, I imported it into Audacity and then exported it as wave again so I could do the editing in Studio Recorder. That worked, so press tab if you want to hear the official kick-off of Oktoberfest 2024.

  1. The one that plays CDS is called the Victor Reader Classic and the Stratus. which I both have. the Plex talk is low quality and you can set what file formats you want to record on recording settings. Same quality like the victor’s stream It’s low quality with the speakers and the mike.

  2. I remember I used to record a lot of stuff using the Plex talk and the Victor reader stream when I borrowed it 10 years ago and I could tell you the sample rate is somewhat low what do you think? I haven’t backed those up to my SD card because I didn’t have a computer back then.
