When I was in high school and took a year of French, I had tapes and a book that went right along with those tapes. I could listen to the pronunciation and read how it was spelled at the same time. I’m finding the Braille and audio German courses to be a bit of a disappointment there. The audio has nothing to do with the supplemental material that’s in the Braille. Still, it’s newer material and the sharp s is present in the Braille, where it isn’t in the old book I still have that was published in 1949. I had to wait so long for this, and for it to be disappointing, well,such is life I guess.

Here’s a short update. I have found that the audio and text do have enough in common for me to read along and hear the pronunciations. The only thing that remains to be seen is if I can really learn by using this course. I’m not good at teaching myself something this complicated so it seems. If only I could’ve learned German in high school while my brain was much more able to learn.
Oh yes, I’m keeping all the German materials I’ve been able to lay my hands on.
